Hitchcock Dances was resident on mp3.com from June 2002 onwards, for a total of 17 months.
A selection of the cartel's music was available in streaming format until 2nd December 2003 on mp3.com, at: http://www.mp3.com/Hitchcock_Dances/.
mp3.com ceased to exist on that day, the domain name and nothing else having been bought by CNET. mp3.com had announced ( on 13th November) that all existing artist materials on mp3.com were to be destroyed. This act of vandalism was carried out, and was reported on in The Register for the 3rd of December. CD sales were discontinued a fortnight or so earlier on Monday 17th November - with two working days notice. CNET revived the mp3.com site as a location for the download of commercial (i.e., signed) music.
Tracks which were aired on mp3.com include - Mohawk (Voiceless Hymn for the Project for the New American Century); Friendly Fire (2003); Liebezeit; Casa Luque (first course); Ashurbanipal (live studio improvisation); Wotan; No-one may ever have the same Knowledge, 2 Movements for 4 Guitars (1st & 2nd Movements), Seventh Cosmic Wind (live studio instrumental), Conversations with Ogotemmeli, Alhambra, End of the Affair, Brief Lives, Ishmael (part one), Dragonfly, Girl Summer, View from the 77th Floor, Hitchcock Dances (live studio instrumental), Enki Temple (listed as Ipibaba), A Death in Andalusia, American Morning, and Zen Flesh.
We had two commercially available CDs on mp3.com: these were 'View from the 77th Floor', and a short four track sampler, 'Liebezeit'. These have been commercially unavailable since 17th of November 2003.
Our first CD featured eleven tracks: Brief Lives, Zen Flesh, Wotan, Ishmael (part one), Dragonfly, Casa Luque (first course), Liebezeit, Girl Summer, End of the Affair, Invocation, and View from the 77th Floor.
The Four track sampler featured: Brief Lives, Wotan, Liebezeit, and Girl Summer. Covers of each appear below:
